Food banks and pantries

What it is. Free groceries from local pantries and mobile distributions. The regional food bank supplies the pantries; it does not hand out food at its warehouse. Your first stop is the food bank's online pantry locator.

Who it's for. Anyone. Second Harvest (Orange, Volusia) says no income test, no SNAP, and no ID needed. Feeding Northeast Florida pantries (Alachua, Duval) set their own intake — ask when you call. Some USDA-food sites ask for your ZIP code, household size, and self-reported income on a form.

First step. Enter your ZIP code in the locator for your county, then call the pantry before you go — hours change often.

In your county.

County Food bank Pantry locator
Orange, Volusia Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida · 407-295-1066 feedhopenow.org/find-help/food-finder (opens in a new tab) — if nothing is nearby, submit the food assistance form (opens in a new tab)
Alachua Feeding Northeast Florida, Bread of the Mighty branch · 352-336-0839 feedingnefl.org/find-food-now (opens in a new tab) — filter by "delivery" or "open today"
Duval Feeding Northeast Florida · 904-513-1333 feedingnefl.org/find-food-now (opens in a new tab)

After hours, dial 2-1-1 for the nearest open pantry.

Good to know.

  • Mobile distributions are first come, first served. Some pantries require appointments or limit visits per month.
  • Second Harvest does not list home delivery; someone else can pick up for you with a signed note.
  • Second Harvest publishes a Volusia County resource guide (opens in a new tab).

Cost. Free.

Not yet confirmed: which individual pantries offer delivery or can handle allergen-free, tube-feeding, or other medical diets. Ask the pantry directly.

Program details can change. Follow the agency’s current instructions and the dates on your notices. Official links above take you to the organization responsible for the program.
